The firs t round of 125cc B was not so easy for Boruff a s Vir ginia' s Mitch ell H od ges teamed with Kurt Sims to sq ueeze him out on the sta rt. The two Kawa saki jock s began to pull a way froin Boruff and the res t of the pack of 24 riders, when Si m s cras he d h ard a n d w a s fo rced to return to the pits. Hod ges cru ised o n, deflecting all cha llenges from Boruf f to take the first-moto win . Rounding out the firs t-outing top five were Ja ke Morris, Andy Caldwe ll and Ch ris Hed rick, in that order.
