Once again Perez led the pack into tum eric and was never headed . All the riders seemed conten t with their first-mote scores as the top five finished in the exact same order . In Pee Wee action Darin Souza was the class of the field win ning both motos. Taking second via 3-2 mote scores was Scott Halcomb narr owly edpin g out Darr en Nyc's 2-3. Dylan Lawrence ran fou rth , with Derek Brock filth . Results Billy Martin was one of the headliners a t Lodi Cycle Bowl's season opener, which was held on March 19 after the ea rl ier-sc he d u led d oubleheader was postponed because of rain. The tra ck was fast and tacky and in pr etty good shape conside ring the amount of rain over the last couple of weeks. Ow nbey gra bbed the holeshot a t the green light in the Open Expe rt Money Class main eve nt and led the pack un til Nath an Waite took ove r the lead at the half-lap mark and held it through tu m three. Then Martin took the inside line and squ eezed ou t Ow nbey and Waite to take over the lead. As Martin and Waite puUed away from the pack, Kevin Bricker got aro und, Ownbey taking over the third position at about the halfway point, then Ownbey sud denly pulled off the track. The remainder of the race was'outra geously fast as Martin powered his 600 Rota x around the quarter -mil e ova l to take the win, close behind in second was Waite and Bricker rounded out the top three. The Pee Wee Stock Experts anxiously awaited their tum to ride the " big track" after their own track was d eemed to be too muddy to ride on . At the start it was Ryan Kuntz shooting 011 the line and in to the lead with Corey Eaton and Bradley Hiler battling it out for the second position. Lap a fte r lap , Kuntz powered his SOcc Yamaha out fro n t while Eaton and Hiler swap ped pos ition. Kunt z pulled-off a wir e to wire victory with Eaton holdi ng on to seco nd, edging out Hiler. . Expe rt act io n was su pe r fast as Toby Jorgen sen look ed to be in the g roo ve , runn in g . awa y w ith a w ire-to-wire win . In hot pursuit and holdi ng off the rest 01 the pa ck was Brandon George followed dosely by Mickey Lane A new rid er at the Cycle Bowl, Chri s Waite, and Tony Meiring finished fourth and fifth, respectively. A new class added to the program th is year is the Op en Black Plat e class . All points from this cla ss go to wa rd's th e 1995 Black Pla te Awards. Al the green light it was Kevin Bricker leadin g the pack. Bricker kep t the point through three-fou rths of the race until Rota x-mounted Cecil Short pow ered by for the lead as the pair exited tum four .
