MAR. 1819 David Sadowski. the 1994 WERA Form ula USA Champion. came to Willow Spring s Interna tional Raceway and walked awa y with the Toyota Gold Cup Formu la One race victory d uring the third round Of Willow Springs Motorcycle Club action. Curtis Ada ms grabbed the holeshot off the line followed by Walt Dorsch in second place. Halfway through the first lap; Sadow ski moved from near the back of the pack up into third and bega n to tighten the screws on Dorsch . As the second lap got und erw ay. Sadow ski moved past Dorsch and rapidly closed on Adams. At the same time, Ch uck Graves had moved up to fourth p lace an d pa ssed Dorsch on the back straight to take over third . Meanwhile, Sad owski passed Adams in tum eigh t to move into the race lead on his Mike Velasco-tun ed Hond a CBR900RR. With Sadowski in the lead , a th ree-ride r confti ct fo r secon d dev elo ped betwee n G ra ves, Ad ams an d Do rsch, as they were side by side dow n the front stra igh t at the completion of the third lap . Going into tum one, Graves grabbed seco nd. followed by Adams and Do rsch. But Do rsch wasn' t con tent with fourth and a lap later, he passed Ada ms. Gra ves now put all his efforts into catching Sadowski and slowly closed the gap o n the leader: Midway through the eighth lap , Graves slippe d pas t Sadowski in tum four and Graves contin ued to hold the lead for another lap and a half. As the 10th lap started. Sadowski d rafted Graves down the fron t straig ht and dro pped to the insid e of tum one, passi ng Graves to retake the lead. Sadowski held on for the win followed by Graves in second and Dorsch third. In th e WSMC/Tom Sera Raci ng Formul a Two race, Robbie Dowie was the fastest rider off the line, bu t Nick lenatsch put his Team Zero Gravity-s ponsored Yamaha TZ250 into the lead ' early in the race to take th e win foll ow ed by Kent Kuni tsugu and Jason Paden .
