MAR 12 Jus t shy of 200 entered rid ers met the challenge of Bu rleson Motocross in sp ite of threatening rain clouds, and Roy Schellnberger created a little weather of h is ow n as he stormed to the 250cc Expert class win. . lhe day was kicked off in great fashion as a combi ned moto vet and 125 Intermediate and Experts took off the ga te. Billy Ake rs grabbed the holeshot and led fellow Team Green expert raoer Roy Schellenberger to the checkered flag in both ma tos, but Schelenberger turned the tables in the 250cc Expe rt class when he dominated both mo tos. The Team Gree n /Grapevine Kawasaki / Answer-backed Sch ellenberger sn a p p ed the holeshot in the first moto of the 250cc Expert event, but Tea m Green /Grapevine Kawasaki/ MSR's Billy Akers soon took the lead from Schellenberger and stayed out front for two laps. Schellenberger saw a golden opportunity in the K·Mar! Jump sweeper for a pass, and went low and inside to block Akers' exit to take over the lea d. The youn ger Akers frantically chased Schellenberger, but the senior raoer kept his charge to the checkered flag to claim the first-mota win. Moto two was the Roy Schellenbe rger Show , in sp ite of the fact that Vet Intennediate Sprint HayneS grabbed the holesho t. Ha lfway thro ugh the first lap, the Experts were through pla ying games with Haynes, as Schellenberger shot past Haynes down the short stra ight from the K-Mar!
