Fis her a lso excelled in th e Bomber class for bikes built bet ween 1975-S0, a di vis ion politely sh u nned by AHRMA at its Na tional and Region a l eve n ts, yet one tha t wi ll be featu red throughout the Ca l-Zona Series. "I think there is a grea t need for the Bomber class," Fisher said after winning the event with a 1-2 score. "The re we re a lo t of bikes built bet w een 7 5 and ' SO th at yo u can' t race against newer bikes an d that AHRMA doesn 't wa nt eithe r." Berg han d ily won the mot o, but the victory - combined wi th a firstmoto DNS - la nded him fourth overall behind Fisher, Rick Lun dgren an d Mike Lillevig. "That's the first time I'd ever ridden a vin tage race or th at bike," Be rg sa id af te r wa r d , " I had to ge t o n th e TM because it wa s the onl y thing I had left tha t was running. But it wasn' t too bad , and I'm sure that I' ll come ou t and do thi s aga in." Wray didn' t have as easy a tim e in th e Mod ified Pee Wee class, however, as Joey Rose was able to fe n d o ff hi s cha rges thro u g hou t th e moto, Wray 'was forced to se ttle for second, while Seed s nabbed third . Team Splitfire /Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki rider Ryan Hu gh es was on hand to presen t the mini race rs with their trophies, and thou gh all of the kids we re thri lled to meet him, most wer e quite shy during the awa rd presentations. At the d ay' s en d, few riders if any left the track disa ppoint ed , and racerturn ed-prom ote r LeFevre a p pea red pleased wi th the way the eve nt had ru n. "We had an excellent day, and this is a great facility" LeFevre sai d. "The best part abo ut this place is the view ing . You can really see everythi ng on the track."
