Halfway in he had about 2.4 seconds
with MCE Racing 's Kevin Murray second in front of Jim Struke and, just back,
Roadracing World editor John Ulrich.
Then there was a big gap to Toby Jorgensen who had gro un d on Paul Black
and George Gervasi.
The fourth lap would be Ulrich's last,
his exit in the same spot as Tickle's as
Rogers continued to hold about 2.6 seconds ....rith Struke now in front of Murray.
Second and third would swa p spots
on the fifth lap, wi th Murray sticking to
Struke's tail until the end of the sixth lap
when Murray cras hed within sigh t of
the ch ec ke red flag. Wh e n Murray
crashed out of third place, that effectively sealed the title for Rogers .
"I saw the pit board and it was plus
2, plus 3, plus 4. I decided to up the pace
a little and see if I could get out of
