Davis dominates Coleridge ST By Gene Gilmo re COLERIDGE,NC,SE . 25 PT Will Davis won the purse in the third ann ual Cox Har ley-Davidson "Run What You Brung" flat track race at Coleridge Speed way. The Saturday night race was called because of rain , but Sunday was sched uled as an alternate race date. Some of the best riders on the east coast showed up to try for the $3000 purse. Led by Georgie Price, the top four qualifiers turned sub-to-second lap times, which was fast for the rain-slickened race track. After two attempts to start the Pro main, the flag dropped and Davis grabbed the holeshot as the pack poured through tum one. The red flag came out when veteran rider Donnie Krusinski took a spill and collected 'Paul Lynch in tum two . Krusinski managed some qu ick repairs and made the two-minute restart time limit Luckily, Lynch was unha rmed in the crash . The flag dro pped and the pack went for tum one so d ose it was difficu lt to tell who was who. As the gro up came through tum two, Davis was agai n out front, followed by Price and Kevin Varnes . As the lap times decreased, the d istance be tween riders increased. Varnes got sideways in tu m two, allow ing Ian Segedy and Rober t Lewis to sneak past on the inside line. At the fr ont of the p ack, Pri ce and Ia n Segedy swapped leath er for the second sp ot behind Davis, who pus hed his Rotax smoothly through the comers. The whi te flag came out as Davis was moving up on the slower riders, the front four riders moved up as Davis was fon:ed to adjust his fast line for up comin g tr a ffic. As the pack came around turn four, Davis sho t the st raight and grab bed the win. Price, Segedy and Lewis finished behind Davis in that order. .." Results MA IN : 1. Will Davis (Rh); 2.
