.MOTOC'ROSS 1994 Season in review .,. Kiedrowski would be pressured to win the second moto just to stay even with laRocco in the points chase (assuming laRocco and Kiedrowski finished 1-2 in the second moto). That first moto at Red Bud will go down in history journals as one of the most memorable moments in motocross. LaRocco chased Kiedrowski lap after lap, but Kiedrowski was holding his ground. It was an epic duel and would all be decided on the ultimate lap. With less than half a lap to go, the two riders made contact and crashed. LaRocco recovered first and went on to win the moto with Kiedrowski taking second. Since Kiedrowski was h it from behind, he felt that LaRocco had purposefully taken him out. This bothered Kiedrowski greatly, and as the series reached th e halfway point, the mounting frus trati on got the best of him. At the fast and hilly Red Bud track in Buchanan.Mlchigan, Kiedrowski foun d h im self leadin g the first mo to w ith LaRocco tra iling in second . Ele ven points separated Kiedrowski fr om La Rocco goi n g into th e ra ce a n d Kiedrows ki wanted that first-moto win bad ly . By win ni n g the firs t moto, Kiedrows ki wo ul d at lea st ga in three points on LaRocco and would go int o the second moto with a good chance of gaining another three points, closing the gap in the series to just five points. Otherwise, finishing second to laRocco in the first moto would mean that (Above) National motocross may not be as spectatorfrlendlya8 8Upercros8, but there Is something about an outdoor track that 8tadiums will never duplicate.
