While Lamson and Henry were going at it, so were Reynard a nd Hughes. Hughes had go tten around Reyna r d early in the race, though Reyna rd continued to pressure Hughes extre mely hard every lap. Hu ghes ended up ta king the checkered flag just inches ahead of Reynard. . Dobb was keeping close tabs on that battle for a while until tak ing back-toback head ers in the exact sa me spot in the whoops. Emig, meanwhile, climbed to-as high as fourth but couldn't close any gro un d on the Hughes/Reynard battle. Huffman settled for sixth, ahea d of Decker, Ferry, Suzuki support rider Denny Stephenson and Honda of Troy's Davey Yezek.
