Sumner also claimed the victory and $2.50 in the Wisconsin Harley-Davidso n Dealers Association 883cc exhibiti on race. Beyer agai n chased Sumn er to the finish with Mike Du vall finishing third. Bob Ybema won the 500cc Pro class in a ru naway after getting by ea rly lead er Terry Vesta l. Kasten held onto second all alone, while Vestal then had a close battle with Beyer for the third position. Cycle Bowl's fast quat· tee-mile ov al. Souza took the leola away from Levi Germa n on the firs t lap and never look ed ba ck as he opened up a gap over German and th e res t o f the fie ld and powe red on to tak e t he w in . Behind Souza, German found himself in a battle for second w ith Zane Amaro. The pai r tra ded pla ces a few times until Ama ro cras hed on th e white-flag lap , moving Rona ld Reimer up into the third spot at the flag. behi nd Germa n and winner Souza . In the Schoo lboy class it was Souza again pullin g off a w in in the 250cc d ivision o f th e race, though he and Toby Jorgensen were close th ro ughout the ra ce . The 600cc division wa s won by Justin Hermeskey, who led from flag to flag ove r second -placed Sammy Sabe d ra and Scott Marqu is, who finished third. Action in the Pee Wee Modified class saw a wi re-t o-w ire win for Stewa rt Barber, w ho rode h is Yama ha smoo thly around the eighth-mile Pee Wee track just ahead of Brad ley Hiler. Scott Whitaker grabbed the holesho t in the Ope n C class and led the race un til the third lap when a host of rid ers ba iled in tum one, b ringing ou t the red flag . On the single-file restart Wh itaker aga in pu lled in to the lead, only to be passed by Mike Ca llaty and Darigold Suzuki. On the next lap, Suzuki pulled off with mechan ical pr oblems, leaving Pau l Guti erre z to inhe rit third place. The order at the checkered flag was : Gallaty, Wh itaker, G u tierrez, To m on iro Tojiri and Eiske Sonita . Mark Key was the big money-winner for the n igh t. holding off the com pe tition in bot h the Open an d Pro Expert clas ses .
