short track. Bob Sweeten too k the 2.50 an d 600cc A finals, while Lew Woods battled youngster Todd Winsett for the win in both the 600cc Pro and Sportsman fina ls. In the cutthroat 600cc A class, Sweeten was first followed by jim Holl ister, Mike McKee and Lowell Wherley . As t hey went under the halfway flags, Wherley took over third and that order remained the same to the finish. As the 600cc Pro class got underway, Woods took th e lead from Tod d Winsett, Gary Clark and Phi l Libhart. After two laps, Mike Hacker m o ved in to fou rth, while Woods kept Winsett about two lengths behind all the way to the finish line. In the Sportsman class, which is ope n to any Pro or A rider, Woods used his other McGrane Racing/ Diem's Cycle/Fisher's CyclelJ&M Racing Prod ucts-backed Rotax in the stable to jump in fro nt of Eddie H id d en, Winsett and Pau l Lynch.
