AMA Motocross des Nations Team USA Rider VOTE! All motocross fa ns are being asked to assist the A MA in the selection proce ss for the American team at the Motoc ross des Nat ions . Use the official ballot below, and let the AMA know w hich ride rs you th ink will best represent Team USA in Switzerland. Indicate a maxim um of three riders' , checking the appropriate box or writing in a name if we 've missed yo ur favo rite . Vote as often as you like, but each ballot must be mailed separate ly . O ne lucky voter will be selected at random to receive an Officia l 1994 AM A Motocross des Nations Team U SA Lim ited Edi tion jacket. The vot ing totals w ill be the main determining factor used by the AMA in se lecting riders to receive official inv itations to represent America at the Motocross des Nat ions. Other factors that may affect fina l selections include injuries and rider experie nce on various displacement machines. surrendered the lead to Tretera one lap short of the finish. Don Ja ckson (HuflmansCycle Center) had won both heats, but just couldn't get his Kawasaki to handle in the main and had to settle for second. Brian McClelland finished a ver y competitive third. Lightweight Knobby action was dominated by motocrosser Brian Bellinger. Improving with each lap, RobertSigler wasable to e dge out Bob Milligan for second. J Mason tough at Silver State Motocross opener By Joan Tiearney CARSON em, NY, MAY 13 Mike Mason swept the 80cc Junior competition at Silver Slate Racewa y's Friday night series opener, promoted by On TracEvents and Robert Hansen. The Michael 's Suzuki-mounted Ma son quickly jumped out front, grabbing the holeshot followed by the Kawasaki of Alex Kasscnbaum. Jamie Morley was third off the start but was passed by Mall Knesick on lap two. Knesick set his Hond a on cru ise but couldn 't catch Mason in . time. When the checkered fl ag flew it was Mason with the win, and Knesick settled for second place . Mota-two ac tion was much th e sa me as Maso grabbed the holes and etched out his n hot lead. Behind Mason was Daniel Ailes from the 80cc Beginner class hanging tough and keeping pace with the Juniors By lap four, Kncsick had . cau up from a poor start and passed Ailes to ght take ove r second again. Mason , out front with a gia n t lead , kept his Su zu ki revved and rode an other perfect moto to cap ture the checkered for the second time that evening . Knesick finis~ed second for the night.
