in o r bust seems to be the
motto of Stefa n Everts th is
year.
At the 250cc MX GP opener in Spain
th is March, the Belgian Kawasaki ride r
broke twice, but since then he can do no
wrong. He won both motos of the Dutch
W
GP, has dominated the prestigious Easter Trophy rac es
and the Belgian Na tio n a l
Championship opener, and
he took another GP double at
Monte varch i in Italy to move
to within six points of the
champ ionship p oints lead amazing, co n si d erin g his
zero-point tota l on the openingdayoftheoun~~
Even defending champion
Greg Albertyn had no answer
to Everts at the Italian track,
but second overa ll was
enough to move him back to
the head of the table, as previous leader Donny Schm it, in
company with other genuine
outdoor motocrossers like
Kurt Nicoll, Mamicq Bervoets
a nd Tram pas Parker, was
res tric ted to lower leaderboard placings.
Youth domina ted the placings o n the ju mp-infested
track, and the top five positions in each race were dominated by Everts, Albertyn,
Tallon Vohland, Rob Herring
and Frederic Bolley.
It wa s Vohland's best GP
of the year thus far. He followed Everts past Albertyn
early in race two , fin ishing

clinch third on the day.
Vohland 's Pepsi teammate Yves
Demaria had joined them in a first-moto
freight tra in ; all six of the riders
involved completed the race within 12
seconds of each other. But Demaria was
elim inated on the opening lap of race

Alessandro Puzar.
Mounted on a factory Honda, Edwin
Evertsen continues to struggle with his
injuries . He quit moto two while out of
