American Tr ia ls Association 's championship
round three at Corral Canyon saw Gas-Gas rider
Dennis Thompson score his second win of the
season.
Trailing Terry Baker by two points after the
first loop, Thompson b uckled down to take a
three-point lead ove r Baker and Ron Cavataio,
who were tied after the second loop . Thompson
went on to score an Il-point final loop , taking
the win 32-37.
Over 75 riders were gree ted by a treacherous
seven-mile loop and 10 cha llenging sections, utilizi ng rocks, m ud and s trea ms. Belgian rider
Oliver Clama giran d rode his Section One-sponso red Fantic K-Roo to a convincing wi n over
.Jared Malmquist in the Expert class. Clamagirand was pleased with his new K-Roo and hopes
to do well in the Nationals,
In Ad van ced A, the resu lts looked like a
bla st from the p ast with Martin Bel air, Mike
Griffitts a nd Oli Thorda rsan finishing 1-2-3,
respectively.
James Laudeman domina ted the Sportsman
A class wi th six points for the day, while Sheldon Parker edged out Mark Hogan for second
place, 30-32.
