out, bu t I couldn't pu t it all together at one time." Despite the fact that he wasn't jumping either triple, Button was flat-out blazing, as he shredded through the pack to third place by just the fourth lap . "I had a good line through the whoops," said Button. "I must ha ve done abo ut 90 % of m y passing there. I was too heavy to do the triples, but it didn't matter - I was jumping low and getting the power to the ground, and sometimes I would actually gain on Robbie and Ezra the re." Button used h is line through the w h oo ps to pass Reynard near the halfway point, and set out after Lusk who was still leading. Lusk already had 12 seconds on his teammate, however, and Button wo uld have to settle for second. "I got a good start, but it's never over ' til it's over," said Lusk. "I tried to get the jumps down and lea rn the track. I didn't look back un til I was out in front a ways, and then I fou nd a spot where I could see how they were doing. He (Button) wasn't gaining much - maybe a little in the end - but I might have backed off a little bit because the track got really rutted . I hope I can keep d oing this. All I can do is take it one race at a time and keep doing the same thing." "I'm as happy' as can be," said Button . "I rode well, and Suzuki already told me they're hap py with me. A win would be nice, bu t I'm happier here than I was at Daytona , and I won there." Reynard held on to finish third, with Mike Brown and Tim Ferry rou nd in g o ut the top five. Davey Yezek, Chad Pederson, John Dowd, Greg Rand and Barry Carsten completed the top 10 finishers. a Hoosier Dome Indianapolis, Indiana Results: March 19, 1994 125 HEAT 1 (20 r id ers. 6 l.lps. top 9 tra ns fer): t .
