Cycles-backed rider Barry Carsten.
Ca rsten, fro m Bayville, New Jersey,
walked aw ay with number-one trophies
in both the 125 and 250cc Expertclasses at
the Worldsports-promoted even t, but the
trophy earned in the 125ee class was, perhaps, the one he was most proud of. He
battled with Michael McDonald throughout the final for a well-deserved victory.
Carsten was the early leader, but was
passed by McDonald in a switchback sec:tion. McDonald then led theway for a while
until Carsten blasted by him in thewhoops.
