Third overall fell to Bill Henry, whose 4-3 Score edged the 3-4 tally of Ronald Harrison. Th ere were 22 entries in the 250cc Intermed iates, but still no match for Rantz, who ea rned another d ouble-mete sweep. Keith Lynas was th e ru nner-up ahead of Jeff Shi ve s and Brian Shives . Cha rlie Singleton's 2-1 finish es gave him the win in the 40+ Novice class over AHRMA's ace poi nts-tally man John Gulliford; Michael Kopp comp leted the top three . The Premier 500 11 Experts had a dose battle, with Cochran lead ing the first race wire to wire, bu t ba ttling with an ailing Triumph twin at the finish. Vintage Husky's John leFevr e finish ed second , b ut he passed Cochran to w in the second moto and the .day' s overall; John Lund gren was third. Vin tage H usk y's h ir ed gun, T im Nash, achieved notable resu lts by winning the 250 and 500cc Expert d ivisions, plus the special Bomber d ass and the Expert Shoo tou t, which p itted all the first-m ot e winners in a heads-up race at day's end . Gardner quickly passed Smith for the lead, but fell in a comer.. Barton reacted to Gardner's miscue, shooting by Smith for the point position. Smith, Gardner and Doug Fleming followed him home. Barton later returned in the 25+ di v ision and led each mota from wire to wire over Marlc Beamer, Scott Wood, Tom Dixon and Steve Dye.
