McCorkel rails Echeconnee MX By Toni Antoni MACON, GA. FEB. 20 Christopher McCorkel sco red 1-1 moto finishes to beco me the top man in the hard-fo ugh t Junior Cycle class at the Echeconnee MX facility, McCo rke l too k the first-mo ta win over a hard-charging Malt Beatty. In moto two, the Barr's Compelition-baclced Zach Rut led ge nailed the holesh ot wi th Beatty a nd McC orkel in tow. McCo rkel made s ho rt work of Beatty and sel out afler Rutled ge. As the tw o riders a pproached the whoop section they ca me to ge t h e r, wi t h Rutledge going dow n . McCorkel raced to the w in o ve r Beatty, with Rutledge coming back to finish fourth. Team Suzu ki's Scoll Pinso n, in only his sec. ond start since suf ferin g a bad ly bro ken leg at the Lorella Lynn MX Champio ns hip, looked like his old self as he dominated the Youth class and powered to a second overall in the 12See Bclass. Jeff Giese nailed the ho leshot in moto one of the 125cc B class with Chad Anderson in tow. Pinson sta rte d abo ut mid-pack but wa s on the move, p icking off one rider each lap . Giese led fro m flag to fla g, wi th Hond a-mo unted Buz Dyer overtaking Anderso n for second and Pin. son taking fourth. Moto MO wa s a differe nt story as Pinson put h is Pro Circuit-ba cked Suzu ki out fro nt early and was never cha llenged. Dyer followed Pinson hom e to ta ke second in the moto, and th e overall win. First-mo te winne r Giese was a ncr sho w with b ike trouble.
