Citrus Bowl Orlando, Florida Results: January 15, 1994 (Round 1 of 15) adv anced to second, and the race, for all intents and p urposes, was over. Th e pack qu ickly began to sp read ou t, an d so on it was d ifficult to keep tr ack of anything but the top three - Lusk, Butto n and Ferry. Reynard provid ed the on ly ente r tainment as he slas hed his way forw ard from a de ad-last sta rt. "I ran into someone in the first turn, and eve ryone ran in to me ," said Rey- . nard after the race, sporting a cu t finger he incurred in the incident. "I was dead last, and 'I thou ght to myself, T d better get going.' I didn't know how far I'd get; I was just going as fast as I could." Reynard advanced to fourth on th e 14th of 15 laps, bu t ran o u t of ti m e before he could hunt down Ferry. Lusk scored the convincin g win. "I started the same way as last year (with a win ), bu t I actu ally feel bet ter more focused," said Lusk. "I crashed in practice and pinched some nerves in my neck and back, bu t I fel t pretty good once I got going. I'm not going to think abou t trying to wi n every race or anything. When I go to Houston, I'll worry about winn ing there, and so on." "It really feels good ," said ru nner-up Button, who was p lagued by injuries and bad luck last year. "I made a mistake on the sta rt and abo ut eight gu ys went by. I saw tha t the pit board said 'Ezra - plus 12: and that was only a few laps into the race. I started bare ly catch-: ing him, b ut I deci ded it would be bett er to get second tha n to crash. Jimmy Gaddi s only won on e race last year, and he was (west coast) champ. Second 's okay, as long as it's to my teammate." Ferry, fast on the race track, was not as im pressi ve on the podium.
