Saturday Night Hol e shot a r t is t Whitley, o nce again, bl asted into the early lead in the 12Scc feature, w hile Gaddis continued havin g problems ge tting off the start cleanly . However, it never seemed to matter fo r Gaddis, as he again mo ved up to the fro nt to cha llenge Wh itley for the lead . Whitle y tried in va in to keep Gaddis at bay, but ev entually had to give in to hi s relentless attacks. Gadd is graduall y pulled away fro m the rest of the pack, while Pederson b egan challenging Whitley for second . At the halfway point, Pederson charged by Whitley fo r second . Unfortunately for Whitley, his problems weren't over yet as Rand began pressuring the Honda rider. Rand soon had control of fourth. The top four positions remained the same to the checkered flag with Gaddis grabb ing the win ahead of Pederson, Rand and Whitley. Completing the top fiv e w as Jeff Curry who started the race mid pack. For the fourth time, Whitley nailed th e holeshot; th is tim e in Saturday's 2S0cc feature. But early in the race, Terry Tinney blew by Whitley for the lead . Tinney's re ig n was short-lived, as Gaddis slipped by Whitley for second then Tinney for the lead. Gaddis agai n stretched out his advantage, while Tinn ey and Whitley duked it out. Whitley repassed Tinney at the halfw ay point. Meanwhile, Ran d had been wo rk ing his way up through the pac k after a bad sta r t and was soon breathing down Tinney's back. Rand eventually slipped by Tinney and took off after Whitley who he passed shortly the reafter. Pederson, fo ll o wi ng in Rand's _ wake, also squeaked by Whitley, taking over th ird. When it wa s all over, Gaddis had scored his fourth win of the 'weekend, while Rand, Ped erson, Wh itley and Robbie Skaggs rounded out the top five. tN Result s Friday 125 EX: 1.
