Decke r breezed to the 250cc Pro class vic tory by vir tue of tw o start- to-finis h moto wins . Corey Keeney fi nishe d secon d d u ri ng both motos wh ile C raig Canoy finished a lon el y th ird a head of Larry Link og le a n d Ji m my Lavorci. It was a toug h go for Decker in the 12See Pro class as he had to come from near last in bo th mo tos. At the start of the first mo ta, Decker and Team Green su p port ride r Dere k Natvig we re both victims of a first-tu m p ile up and forced to co me from the back of the pack. Mea n whi le. Greg Schnell an d Keeney we re involved in an all-out battle for the lead which lasted for most of the firs t seven la ps . Traged y would strike Keeney when he slid out and lost control of his Kawasaki in a fast rough swee pe r and crashed back to sixth. About this time. Decker had moved into the top five and quickly p icked off Lavorci for third a nd then Erick Hilton, a lap later, for second. That's as far as Decker wo uld get; Schnell had built up an insunnountable lead for th e moto win. Hilt on, Natvig and Lavor ci completed the lop five. . The seco n d mota mimicked t h e fir st as Schnell pulled a repeat holeshot with Keene y hot on his heels . Decker again had problems during the first lap, gettin g tangled up in trackside banners which caused him to drop to the back of the pack. Dec ker w as mired midp a ck until the ha lfway signa l came out . At that point, Decker came to life an d began to reel in the leading trio. Decker saw the two lap signa l and methodically we nt to work, first passing Schnell. With one lap to go, Decker execu ted a per fect block pass on Na tvig for second. Decker tried to pass Keeney on virtually every section of the race course, but it wa s too little, too late as Keeney mo tored to the win. Decker's 2-2 score was enough, though. cr for the overall win. Results 50 BEG: 1. JoshUoJ Brown (Y.un); 2. J o1CClb POI:'Jk (Y.am); 3. Cas Swift (Y~); 4.
