In the 40-Plus/Super Senior class, Steven Lewis was automatically qualified for the Top Gun Showdown moto and ran away with it from start to finish. Johnny Gibson and AMA Professional Motocross Director Duke Finch battled for second for more than half the race until Finch got by and pulled away for the runner-up finish. Gibson held on to thi rd . Boyd Wolfe, w ho s wep t both qua lifier motes, was eighth in the Showdown. Wi ndham tuned up fo r Sunday's event by easily winning both Schoolboy motos on Saturday. But with Windh am concen tr a ting on the A cl a sses, the Showdown moto went to Georgian Robbie Horton. His win was n't easy, however, as he had to overcome a first -lap fa ll. At the halfway point he took the lead from J.D . Collins, who kept the winner in sight for the remainder of the race. Jimmy Briggs rounded out the top three. Collins was in contention for the 125cc B class win until a slip halfway through the moto left Jason Sybert alone ou t fron t to the finish . Ramsey Bulk eley was the runner-up whil e Collins battled back to thir d a t the checkered flag. Collins did get a victory in the 250cc B final after he battled past runner-up Brandon Powers. Bradley Wilkerson, Shelley Warren, Rick Castleberry and Dou g Harvey battled for the lead in the firs t half of the 3D-Plus C class Showdown moto. Warren gained the point and opened a small lead at the halfway po int, but Harvey came afte r him and took the lead as the track wound its way th ro ug h the w ood s. Warren kept up th e pressure throughout the last lap , bu~ Han:ey held his ground for a na rrow Win. Wilkerson ended up third ahead of Castleberry. (;OJ NO N CU R: 1. Mark Thunnan (Hon); 2.
