Mitchell also go t aro und Dubin, then sq uared off a tum underneath Andrew to move back into the runner-up po sition. With mom en tum on his side, Mitchell do ve underneath Wyman in the following tum to grab the lead . Mitchell immedia tely pulled out a three-second lead on Andrew, who was now running second. Withi n a lap, Andrew closed 10 the back fende r of Mitchell. During the next few laps Andrew repeatedly se t Mitchell up for the pass only to hav e the doo r slammed on him. With time running ou t, Andrew hooked up in a tu m and railed aro und Mitchell for the lead where he wo uld s tay until the finish. Wagner follow ed th rough and im p resse d th e crowd by charging past Pia se cki on the d oubles a nd triples in front the stands. Piasecki regained the lead on the sa me lap and held it for the win. In the second mo to, Piasecki sta rted in front and stayed there. Giroir was seco nd but fell at the lop of the hill. He recovered qu ickly to hold second place all the way. David Herbold started strong in third place but eventually su ccumbed to Wagn er and Maes tes, who finished third and fourth. respectively.
