Let's notkeep speedway the greatest secr et in the sp o r tin g world, let's expose it and put it out for all to see and enjoy. Thanks again to Cycle News and Scott Rousseau, and tha nks to all the talented and b ra ve guys who put life and lim b o n the line to s how us " the greatest show on earth." Now that we are no longer going to be rece iving funds, I feel we should not need to pay for a s ervice that is no longer available. In Kansas, farmers do not pay taxes o n farm-use vehicles. I think we sh ou ld try to get legislation introduced to remov e most of the taxes from gasoline on fuels used in off-road vehicles. Like tractors, these vehicles are not using the h ighways and we now will need to find a way to support our trails. Why should w e pa y the tax ? I have a fee ling these fund s w ill go towards health care. I've got health care, bu t I don't have an awesome place to trail ride. What's next, a tax on tires ? Thank you, Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group. Thanks for laking over the Seattle Su pe rcro ss . You are the number one racing promo ter. I can 't wail to see wha t kind of w o nd e rfu l t hings yo u ' ll do with yo ur promo tio n of th e Seattle Supercross. Again, thanks for giving us a superc ross in the northwest. Will there be a nythi ng different, or will it follow the ba sic AMA forma t for a supercross? Bart Widman PI. Angeles, WA Since the MT EG..promo ted Seattle Supercross is part of tire AMA Cam el Super-cross Series, it will likely remain consisient Wit/I the races that Irave been lleld at the Kingdome in past years...Editor. Worried about trail money I'm responding to the article in the "In The Wind " sect ion of th e October 27 issue, rega rdi ng the Hou se /Senate Co nfere nce Committee on Transportation App ropriations doin g away with "any a nd a ll " money to maintain and build trails fo r rec rea tional use . Alt hough I have neve r used public trails for riding, it is a dream of mine to one day spend some tim e d oing a littl e mo u nta in trail rid ing as a vacation. The way I see it, when I pay for gas to run through my motor cycle th is is a n invest men t or reserva tio n for me to d o just that, Two heroes Thank yo u, Answer Products and Scott Su m mers for joining our fig h t to save our riding areas. Scott, yo u have proven time a nd time again th at you a re th e most professional motorcycle racer on the p lanet. This new commitment on ly rein forces thi s image. Whatever you are paid, yo u deserve a raise. Answer Produ cts, you are an A-I operation and I thank you for doing your s ha re to help protect m y riding area s. Tomorrow I am replacing my Renthal handlebars and sprockets, AXO Gear and Pro Circuit muffler with Answer Prod ucts . As a member of the general off..road community, I have never read anywhere or heard o f any other racer or company publicly supporting this ~use. The support fr om the public would not only generate sales for companies and support for rid e rs, but it may convince other members of the riding community to become involved. To all other professional racers a nd companies that profit fro m the o ff-roa d community .. come.on in, the water's fine .
