ver 70 riders from 23 states and
Canada competed in the final two
rounds of the AMA/NATC
National Observed Trials Series held in
northern Texas, and when all was said
and done, it was the series' top two rid ers who came away the big winners at
the North Texas Trials Associationorganized event . Recently crowned
National Cha mpion Ryan Young edged
his biggest rival, Geoff Aaron, in a tiebreaker for Sat urday's win, but Betamo unted Aaron stormed back with a
vengeance a nd came away the clear
winner during Sunday's series finale.

Aprilia rider Raymond Peters was
co nsistent throughout the weekend,
finishing third behind Young and
Aaron on Saturday, and nabbing second-place honors beh ind Aaron on
Sunday. Gas-Gas-mounted Andy Saum
was third, while Young finished fourth
aboard his Gas-Gas.
Young's Saturday wi n was the 41st
National victory of his career, and the
six -time Nationa l Ch ampion is
undoubtedly the winningest trials rider
in the nation. Seventeen sections sp read
out over an eight-mile loop cha llenged
th e rid ers on Saturday, with section
