Scott took over the lead on lap two and continued to lead until he began to tire on the fifth lap. Pasawarat saved his best for las t and in the closing laps, stor med into the lead an d on to a pop ular wi n. Virg ilio finished second , w hile Sco tt fade d to third. Jeff Van Camp led the way in mo to two, b u t Sco tt took co m ma nd on la p one a nd opened a n immediate lead . Van Ca mp faded in to the pa ck almost imme dia tely, finis hing a distant 12th. Pittm an held onto second early on, bu t ha d Pasawarat, Virgilio and Scot t hot on his rear fend er . All three rid ers man ag ed to find th eir way past when Pitt ma n slowed with two fl a t tires . After motorin g in to seco nd, Pasawarat slow ly bu t su re ly closed in on Sco tt. Pasawara t managed to make the pass for the lead, but on the last circui t Scott pull ed out the stops and found his way back int o the lead. A t the finish, Scott enjoyed a small lead over Pa sawarat, while Virgilio, Price, Ken Alp analp a n d Pi ttma n rounded out the top finis he rs. Marc Crosb y bl asted to the w in in the 35-39 Interm ed iate class aboard his En zo Racing-spon sor ed Kaw a sa ki KX250. Crosby roosted the pack in both motos with appa ren t ea se , while Jim Henn turned in consistent 3-2 finis hes for second overall. Ted Kukla nabb ed third wi th 4-3 moto scores. Bruce Forinash was the cream of the crop in both combined 40+ Junior, 40+ In termed ia te a nd 50 + Expe r t motos. Ron Stebe was the d ay's only double-class winner, as he piloted his 1986 Yamaha YZ250 to the win s in t he Bom ber and 25-29 Jun ior classes. Stebe easily topped Gar y DeForest and Frank Fer raro in th e first m oto, and bested Joseph Gonzalez and DeForest in the second go-round. In th e 25-29 Junio r class, Steb e also wo n both mo tes, thou gh pressured in the first moto by Pasawarat.
