What started ou t as a bad day on the track, with a first-mote crash that left us with a cru shed exhaus t p ipe and a hole in my Su zuki's gas tank, turned out to be the best da y eve r. We were bummed out after m y rac e and were loaded up and ready to go home when I realized I had qualified to be in the drawing for the truck. You can imagine the greater surprise when I was chose n as one of the five final ists later that eve ning. I can 't explain the feeling I had when the key in my hand started that beautiful Chevy 5-10 p ickup. Although we recently moved and now live about 100 miles from Perris, we still consider it our "home" track and will put that new truck to good use with many more trips to Perris Raceway.
