Ferry flies in West Palm MX
By Wayne Johnson
W.PALM BEACH FL, JUNE 26
,
Tim Ferry wa s the obvious favorit e to wi n the
Pro class at West Palm Beach Supe rcross Track
on the South Florida Fairgrounds, and the 1992
AMA Rookie of the Yea r d idn't disappoint.
Ferry grabbed the holesh ot in his first moto
and was able to hold on uncontested for an easy
win in fro nt of a very su p por tive hometown
crowd .
The second moto started a little differently,
with Chad Chancy storming ou t of the gate with
a sligh t le ad ov er Ferry going into turn on e.
Chancy wa s able to ho ld o ff Ferry for alm ost
two laps, taking the fast lines and forcing Ferry
to make a risky pass, diving under him in one of
the few slow turns on the fast supercross track.
Ferry immediately put distance betw een him self
and the rest of the field, giving him time to put
on a jumping exhibiti on for the crowd .
