World Ownpionship 125cc MX Series: Round 7 Yos~iMuRA 1-2PUNC~ iN ROUNd ~ I T'"""l Yoshimura/Suzuki's Britt Turkington and Gerald Rothman Jr. took the top two spots in the AMA 750cc Supersport race at Road America. Demaria jams in Germany Britt led the race from pole position to checkered flag (which seems to be his favorite way to win lately!) on the long four mile race track, proving once again the awesome power of the Yoshimura/Suzuki GSXR750W. By Alex Hodgkinson GERSTEITEN, GERMANY, JUNE 13 third-moto victory gave Suzuki's Yves Demaria the overall win at the German 125cc GP on the grassland track of Gerstetten. The Frenchman tied Holland's Dave Strijbos for overall points on the day, but by winning the tie-breaking third moto, Demaria was declared the overall winner. The 46 points earned by the French Suzuki rider moved him up to third in the championship series point standings with just four rounds remaining in the series, and he thereby joins Strijbos in putting intense pressure on series leader Pedro Tragter. . The Dutch Suzuki rider - Tragter - had a terrible day, scoring just 13 points and seeing his onee-comfortable lead cut to just 23 points. On home ground Suzuki rider Peter Beirer was, once again, impressive. He looked to be on his way to his secondsuccessive GP win after two runner-up placings, but a first-lap retirement in race three dropped him to fifth on the day, and he also lost third place in the standings. The 20-year-old now trails Tragter by a 54 points. Frenchman Mikael Pichon and Dutchman Remy Van Rees each hurt their chances for the championship title. They both were sidelined once, while a rejuvenated Joakim Karlsson remains seventh in the championship chase, despite ending the day on the podium in third place. Each race was a close-fought affair on a track which offered little technical difficulties; the largest winning margin was that of Karlsson in race one, when he beat Beirer to the checkered flag by five seconds.
