1994 Hondas
rl
eventeen 1994-model Hondas will
hit in dealership showrooms in late
June and early July, but of those 17
machines, only one has received
substantial changes.
The CBR600F2 features most of
the revisions among the earlyrelease Hondas, and the big news is
all-new front and rear suspension systems. A
more-rigid 41mm Showa cartridge fork
replaces last year's non-eartridge unit, and it
is equipped with adjustable spring preload
and rebound damping. Out back, the Showa
CNS III shock absorber has new valving and
has adjustable spring preload, as well as compression and rebound damping adjustments.
The rest of the motorcycle, however, remains
unchanged with the exception of a CBR90ostyle shifting drum that is claimed to provide
more-positive shifting action. Small details
include aluminum passenger pegs, a tubular
side stand and an improved helmet holder.
The CBR600F2 will be available in three new
color schemes: white/black/red, black/violet/red and black/violet/yellow, and will
have a suggested retail price of $6199.
After a three-year
absence, the Pacific Coast
sport tourer makes its
return to Honda's lineup. With the exception of
a new solid black paint
scheme, the 800cc Pacific
Coast is unchanged and
will cost $6499.
Honda's
popular
CBR900RR superb ike
returns mechanically
unchanged in '94, but the
$8599 machine will be
available in two new
color
combinations:
white/red/black
and black/yellow/
violet.
Like the CBR900RR,
the rest of Honda's earlyrelease machines received only minimal
changes. As always,
however, all of the models received the change
we dread most: price
increases. Here's a list of
all the early-release
motorcycles and their
prices, most of which are up between $200 to $300:

crop) Of the 17 early-release 1994
Hondas, the CBR600F2 is the most
changed.. It features major
suspension updates. It now costs
$6199, that's up $300 over last
year's model.
(Left) The Pacific Coast is back!
After a three-year hiatus, enough
public interest convinced Honda
to reintroduce the company's
smooth-looking sport tourer. The
'94 model is mechanically
unchanged from the previous PC
model. It will cost $6499.
(Boltom) The "fuJI-race"
CBR900RR features no major
changes for '94. Nonetheless, the
suggested retail price has
increased by $3()() to $8599.
