I'm still not being paid to ride, but my expenses are being paid. That makes a major difference and I don't have to buy the bike. And my relationship with Dave has been real good for Dave, too. He's learned a lot and he was able to start the team. The things we did together, that's pretty much DavHar Racing. That's how people knew DavHar Racing. Why haven't you tried any of the other classes? I guess I want this championship. Superbike you can't do without a factory deal. So 250's really the only other class where it's real racing. Where you have a mechanic and a rider and you race. If you win the title, then what do you do? I'll see where it takes me. I try to take it one year at a time. Depending on how that year went, decide on next year. Definitely looking ahead, we're supposed to' go to Spain (for the Ducados Open series) this year for four races and that's really what I want to do is race more international races. Get more experience doing that. And World Championship would be great. That's the ultimate goal. You know how difficult it is to get that kind of equipment. Yeah, just about impossible. I've heard my name was mentioned a couple of times, but that's all I've heard. After the 1989'season, Bud Aksland wanted me on the Roberts team and told me that, but, I don't know, I'm an East Coast guy and didn't get the ride. And that's when Gary Cowan got the ride because John Kocinski was leaving for Europe. What are the limitations of your career? I think the limitations are boredom. My curve is still going op. I still learn each weekend. I love doing that. Who's the best rider you've ever raced against? Probably Colin (Edwards). The kid's good. At first I was surprised at how good he was. He learns so fast that there's no doubt where he's going. There's nothing specific he does. He can take a bike that's not set up well and ride it better than anybody else could. The bike setup wasn't critical to him to go fast. The first time you rode with him was on the Honda RC30 at the 1991 Daytona AMA/CCS race and that wasn't set up all that well, was it? Was that the first time you noticed that. .. ....he was riding things that shouldn't be ridden. He hadn't really gone fast on that bike. But what I noticed was he was qualifying and trying to get the bike set up and not qualifying real fast, but then in the race, just go. And he could just ride it even if it was misbehaving. He's got a real good feel for it. With Colin gone, this year it's going to be you and Jimmy Filice and Danny Walker. . Tunmy 's excellent at setting the bike up. He's got so much experience at it. He's got the right people around him to get the bike set up. He's light and that doesn't hurt. Not at all The only way to beat him is to out-race him. He can change direction on the bike very fast. He can comer very tight. And he's just a good all-around rider. If there is a surprise rider in the 250 class this year, who do you think it's going to be? I think Chris Taylor (D' Aluisio's Southwest Motorsports teammate) could make it on the podium. He's got good stuff. He's got 1993 stuff. He's got a 1992 bike with 1993 stuff. He'll do good. It will take him a couple of races. And Bruce Baldus, he goes good at Atlanta. He didn't seem to go too bad at Phoenix.
