Oifford Geortz (11) reeled in a slower rider in the Pro class at the Rockne Hare Scramble.
the long grandstand whoop section, Jones
held it on a little longer and dove into the
turn, hoping to push Rand out of the way.
Rand survived the collision and held on for
second overall. Yeuk won and Jones finished
third.
"When I got out front, I tried to ride
smooth and not worry about who was behind
me," said Yezek.

Feroce Sportswear-sponsored Jones took the
lead at the start of the 2SOcc Pro division, and
ran away from the field. DGY's Pederson
chased Jones, but was not able to catch him.
The first lap saw the end of Buehl's chances
for a win, as he got tangled up in the double
jump section and went down hard. Jones and
Pederson quickly pulled away from Todd
Bennick and Mark Musselman. Damien Plotts
followed Barry Carsten past Rand and
Musselman, with Plaits taking over the fifth
spot.
The race order seemed set until the
halfway point, when Bennick crashed in the
grandstand whoops. Carsten secured third
place and Plaits rode in fourth. The leading
Jones put on an aerial display on the final lap.
"I want to put on a good show for the fans,
because without them, we couldn't have these
races," said Jones.
Pederson finished a respectable second
place, and Carsten put in his second solid ride
of the evening. taking third.
