eMOTOCROSS NMA World Mini Grand Prix m- Pros Brian Deegan (273), Scott Sheak (6), Scott Myers (73) Ryan Huf&nan (708) and Mike Young (3) blast towards the first tum, Bobby Bonds (129) roosted Scott Nelson (75) and Michael Blose (94) in the Pee Wee Modified class, and went on to top the Junior Cycle (6.8 year-old ) class, Jerry Aleman (94) won the Junior Cycle Modified (9·11 year-old) championship. .Sixteen-year-old Damon Huffman topped five of the eight Pro motos, David Pingree was plagued with bad luck and won only on e championship. Kawasaki T eam Green/Fox/Shoei/ Scott/ IOO%/WORITsubaki/PJ I/Dunlop/Renthal/Barr's Competition-backed Carmichael topped the 80cc Stock and Modified (12· 13)classesby running away with the wins in both runoff rnotos. In the Stock class, Carmichael was undefeated, as he won both of his qualifying motos and romped away with an easy win in the runoff. Erick Vallejo transferred into the runoff with third place po ints, bu t a stro ng second in the final moto .netted him second overall. J iri Dostal matched his third-place qualifying finish with a third in the runoff for overall. the Carmichael foun d himself in un familiar territory after a terrible start in his first Modified qualifier left him with second-place transfer poi nts, but came back in fine form to sweep the six-lap run off. Vallejo finished third in the final moto to score second overall , while a fourth in the runoff was good enough to propel Dostal into third overall. "I haven't been getting as good starts as I'm used to," said Carmichael. "I think same 24 I dislocated some of my fingers the other night when I punched my friend, bu t it didn't bother me that much on the track." Seven-year-old Bobby Bonds returned to his California home with a pa ir of cham pionships. Bonds topped the Pee Wee Modified and Junior Cycle Stock . (6-8 year-old) classes with ease. . In the Pee Wee Modified class, Bonds easily zipped away with both moto wins aboard a Suzuki RM look-alike Yamaha PW50. Scott Nelson and Michael Blose traded position s in both motos, with Blose coming out on top by virtue of his better second-moto score. Bonds topped the Junior Cycle Stock class in similar fashion. Eddie Frechette was th e runner-u p ' with 4·2 moto finishes, while Nelson, Justin Delaware and Ross Garcia rounded out the top five, respectively. DMClPAX Racing's Jerry Aleman scored the win in the Junior Cycle Modified (6· 11) cla ss via 3· 1 moto finishes. Eric Williams finished second in both motos, but was edged out by Aleman in the final standings. Travis Riley was third overall with 4·3 scores, ahead of Monte Monta gue and Ivan Tedesco. Justin Buckelew finished third in the first J unior Cycle Stock (9-11) moto, and came alive in moto two to score the moto an d overall wins. Montague was second with 2·5 fin ishes, and Nick Beaver rounded out the top three with 5·4 performa nces. Dago Racing/O 'NeaIlSmith/Bell / Scoobs-spo nsored Jacob Martin decimat ed th e compe tition in the 80cc Modified (through II ) class. Martin won both six-lap motos going away, while Aleman finished a distant second in both races. Third overall went to Johnny Marley, who finished fifth in moto one but raced up to third in moto two. Reginald Mitchell used consistent 13 moto finishes to earn the 80cc Stock (through II ) class championship. Aleman earned another second place trophy with a fourth and a second, and Montague rounded out the top three. Second moto winner Martin was hampered in the overall standings by a DNF in moto : one. Kawasaki Team GreenlYoko/Cycle Engineering-sponsored Casey Johnson cap tured th e 80cc Modified (14· 16) championship with a 1·2 tally. Ryan Clark top ped the second moto, bu t .finished II th in moto one and dropped to sixth overall. Second overall went to Jeff Willoh, who turned in consistent 23 finish es, whil e third overall was Dustin Nelson. Escondido Cycle Center's Dennis Dahlin roosted away with both moto wins in the 500cc Non -Pro class. Kevin
