Cunningham recovered from his
midrace fall , to record fourth overall
at the checkered flag , two minutes and
30 seconds shy of Andrews ' time. The
Brown Jug was only th e second race
of th e seri es that Cunningham has
been able to finish after experiencing
h ea i p ro stra tio n probl ems a t the
second and third ro unds. " I started to
feel a little hot and a little tired but
I too k my sho ulder pads off after they
go t weig hte d dow n with mud and I
felt a little better," said Cunningha m

Doug Blackwell. The seventh-place
overa ll rid er in the fin al tall y wa s

early from hi s 200 A com pe titors and
was never serio usly challe nged. H is

him into third in th e 200cc A cla ss
sta ndings, two points behind early
lead ers Todd Morain and Ch ad From an . Both Morain and Froman
stru ggled in the mud with bike problems; neither were able to finish th e
race. Second pl ace in class wen t to
Kaw asaki -mounted Jeff Lauth, while
Yamaha rider Josh Lojak put in a
career-best da y for th ird in the cla ss
a nd 16th overall.
Onail's 250cc A class triumph came
after narrowly escaping th e clutch es of
veteran woodsmaster J eff Murgel, who
ranked 12th overa ll in the '91 series ,
wh ile competi ng in th e Vet (30) class.

m inutes to spa re o n the Kawasakimounted Murgel. I n d ia n a 's Shad
Ricketts was just a few seconds behind
Mu rgel in third.

but my ch iro practor seems to have

his third win of the '92 campaign. And
in the Masters (55) class Don Harless
was the day's fastest,
The day's fast est B class co mpe titor
turned o u t to be Suzu ki rider Bryan
Mu scav itch , wh o bettered 26 other
riders to win the 200cc B class.
Coming in o n the same min ute as
Mu scavitch was Vet B (30) leader Mike
Holbert , wh o resur faced near the to p
of th e series sta ndings after a lo wly
13th at ro und three in North Carolina.
H ol bert 's prima ry opponent, ATKm ounted Don al d Bigley , finis hed
second.
In th e Four-Stroke B class, Mike
T readway put together a comfortable
lead in th e late stage s of the race to
win going aw ay.
Yamaha rider Mike Wood was th e
fastest of 't he 21 250cc B ri ders; th e Ohio
rid er was th e on ly one in th e cla ss
sho wi ng six laps o n the score sheets .

Yamaha rider Allen Nelson, who
managed a lead of seven minu tes at
