Second pl ace in class wen t to Kaw asaki -mounted Jeff Lauth, while Yamaha rider Josh Lojak put in a career-best da y for th ird in the cla ss a nd 16th overall. Onail's 250cc A class triumph came after narrowly escaping th e clutch es of veteran woodsmaster J eff Murgel, who ranked 12th overa ll in the '91 series , wh ile competi ng in th e Vet (30) class. Onail scored hi s th ird class win of the series a nd I I th overall wi th two m inutes to spa re o n the Kawasakimounted Murgel. I n d ia n a 's Shad Ricketts was just a few seconds behind Mu rgel in third. Ron Pal erm o won h is fir st Open A class run aboard a Lojak's/O 'Neal/ OB Y/ Sco tt/W h i te Br os. z Maiersu pported Yamah a WR500. Palermo held a sizeabl e lead on class points leader Jo hn Vin cent, wh o rid es a Lineman Cycle-backed Yam ah a , and th ird pl ace fini sher Charl es Rogerson. Honda-mounted Jared Green outdi st an ced Suzuki's Mark Hyde to record hi s third Four-Stroke A class win of the series. Green held a lead of approxima tel y two mi nutes o n H yde when the checkered flag fell. Tim Sh ephard's Vet A (30) tri ump h was his best '92 effort to date. " I had · so me probl em s with muscle spasms in my back in th e first coup le of races but my ch iro practor seems to have straightened th:lt ·o u t for me," said Sh ephard, wh o was the o n ly Vet class rider to put in all seven laps on hi s way to a cre d ib le eig h th o vera ll. T ommy Harris, wh o pl aced second, holds the top spot in th e seri es po ints I chase. Yamah a -mounted Terry Meal er picked up his first class win of the year by leading th e Senior (40) pack acros s the finish line. o Plessinger (above) put an end to Scott Summers' win streak in Pennsylvania. In the Sen ior (45) class. Joe Lojak kep t his year-lo ng win streak alive with a six-lap winning effort. T he Super Senior (50) class was ano ther Harry Greenlee showcase, as the defend in g class champ picked up his third win of the '92 campaign. And in the Masters (55) class Don Harless was the day's fastest, The day's fast est B class co mpe titor turned o u t to be Suzu ki rider Bryan Mu scav itch , wh o bettered 26 other riders to win the 200cc B class. Coming in o n the same min ute as Mu scavitch was Vet B (30) leader Mike Holbert , wh o resur faced near the to p of th e series sta ndings after a lo wly 13th at ro und three in North Carolina. H ol bert 's prima ry opponent, ATKm ounted Don al d Bigley , finis hed second. In th e Four-Stroke B class, Mike T readway put together a comfortable lead in th e late stage s of the race to win going aw ay. Yamaha rider Mike Wood was th e fastest of 't he 21 250cc B ri ders; th e Ohio rid er was th e on ly one in th e cla ss sho wi ng six laps o n the score sheets . T ops in the Open B group was Yamaha rider Allen Nelson, who managed a lead of seven minu tes at th e checkered flag o n Honda pilot Robin Miller and the rest of th e class . T he top 125/20Occ C rider a t th e Brown Jug was David Hodge, while Kawasak i rider Matt Wag ner to pped 39 o thers to wi n the 250/ 0 pen C division . Shawn Belvill e won the Min icycle race, h eld o n a shorten ed co u rs e following the conclusion o f the main event. a Joel Andrews made his first GNCC showing of the year and finished third overall.
