For several la ps Palmer held him off, but on the last lap he bobbled and Ga ddi s shot by for the wi n. Dennis Hawthorne also got by to fin ish second while Palmer recovered for th ird. . In the 250cc Pro main, Kerry Mu lligan led for several laps before Gaddi s sho t by and raced away to the win. Ha wthorn e and Palmer worked their way to second and third , respectively, . at the fin ish and were th e only riders not lapped by Gaddis. On Saturday night, Gaddis charged to th e front of the 125cc Pro main and pulled away. Palmer knew he had the championship wrapped up as long as he finished ah ead of Hawth orne. The riders settled in to a pace for the 20lap event with Gaddis ta king the win followed by Palmer, Edwards, La ngford and Hawthorn e. Once again Gaddis blasted in to th e lead at the start of th e 250cc Pro main but th is time he went dow n. Hawth orne, Edwards and Pal mer all shot by. Gadd is tried to come back, but at the fini sh it was Hawthorn e wi th the win over Palmer, Gadd is and Edwards. Sunday featu red amateur racing and in the 125cc Schoolboy class Brook Flu ker grabbed the h oleshot in the mai n event and led un til he crashed in the wh oops. Bryan Carson got by and took the win ahea d of Steven Davis and Charl es Stacener. In th e 250cc Interm ed iate class, Jason Sides grabbed the lead at the start ' of the main and stormed away with th e wi n. Brian Smith finished second followed by Fluker and David Burnett, who overcame a spectacular crash for h is fourth-place finish. Freddie Mitchell and Jack Brassfield swapped the lead severa l times in th e 125cc Novice mai n until Brassfield cras hed hard in th e whoops . Mitchell took over at the front until he fell, ha nding the lead to Robbie Floyd. Mitch ell quick ly rem ounted a n d charged back to overtake Floyd and grab the win.
