FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 3 / JULY 31-AUGUST 2, 2020
MICHELIN RACEWAY ROAD ATL ANTA / BRASELTON, GEORGIA

PJ OUT
The Stock 1000 class was without PJ
Jacobsen and his Celtic HSBK Rac-
ing Ducati Panigale V4 R once again,
although not through injury. The New
Yorker couldn't keep his Stock 1000
machine under temperature, com-
pleting just three laps in the opening
practice session before pulling in.
The problem was the stock radiator
couldn't keep the engine temperature
down, and it would be only a matter
of time before things went bang. His
team appealed to MotoAmerica to run
a bigger radiator, arguing that it didn't
offer any performance gain but just al-
lowed them to race. The request was
denied, and the rider who won round
one at a canter packed up and went
home.
BRAKE PROBLEMS
Stock 1000 rider Cameron Petersen
experienced consistent brake issues
with his Altus Motorsports Suzuki
GSX-R1000R. It's a problem the
South African has had to deal with
since round one, saying in the pits
following his second place in race
one "I'm not going to lie, those last
eight laps were pretty scary. I know
the guys in the team are working their
butts off to make sure I have the best
underneath me, but second place
was all I had today."
