In the sligh tly seasoned Vet classes, the Zahrt fami ly had a prosperous day as brothers J on and former Bultaco factory rider Kenny, scored win s in the Up The Hill Interm ediate and Vet Master classes, respectively. Kenny, who is arguabl y one of the fastest vet racers in the country, trounced the Vet Master class with ease. Kenny's other brother, David, fini shed a respectable second overall beh ind Masaki Kudo in the Vet Intermediate class to put three trophies in the Zahrt's box van. Gary Noble trounced the 125cc Beginner class, as he stormed away with both motos wins. Nobl e gated well in both motos, and before the completion of .th e first lap, motored into the lead for good. In moto on e Pat Foster greeted the checkered flag second, ahead of Ch ris Rapp and J oey Heald, who sliced through the field after sta lli ng hi s bik e on the starting line and gating dead last, Karl Lindstrom scored wins in the 250 and 500cc Junior classes. In th e second moto Noble again ran away with th e win, but this time it was DJ Sweaney scoring the runnerup position. Fost er came hom e th ird and scored second overall, as Swean ey su ffered a seventh-place finish in moto one. Heald was agai n forced to work up from the back of the pa ck, as he forg ot 10 put his goggles on and had to stop in turn two to do so. Heald mus cled his way up to fourth, good enough for third overall. La H abra Suzuki's Paul Ito ran wild in the 125cc J unior Division Two, as he screamed his way 10 a pai r of un contested moto wins. In moto one, Ito was challenged early on by Johnny Chavez, bu t even tua lly opened a ga p . by the moto's end. Chavez finis hed second, ahead of Bobby Krajewski and . Chuck Enscoe. The concludi ng moto saw Ito gra b the holes ho t and never look back. This time, it was Mike Van Noordt who topped the battle for second, ahead of Steve Van Sickle and Krajewsk i.
