his j &S Cycle-sponso red KTM to win the
fourth ro u nd o[ the Mid -South Hare Scram bles Series in Linton.
The Western Ken tucky Trail Ri ders pre·

mcluded n umerous hills and a long, dry creek
section. The to p riders were ab le to co mplete
six laps in the two--hour event.

Myers sweeps Hollister Hills MX

Scott Myers came away the big wi nner at
round three of th e GFI North Battle of the
90s Fall Series, held at Hollister Hills MX
Park. Myers scored the overall wins in all three
Pro classes.
Over 475 riders turned out to com pe te on
th e natura l terrain outdoor track.
The first250cc Pro rnoto saw Rod ney Smith
roost into the lead on the first lap after pa ssing
early race leader Trevor Meagher. Meager was
soo n passed by Myers, wh o had worked up
[rom a fifth pl ace start, Sm ith set a bli stering
pa ce. trying to establish a cu shion on th e o ther
riders. Myers stayed close to Smith, as did
Meagher, jeff Pestana and Dean Matson.
Before th e halfway point o f th e mot o, th e pa ce
p roved to be too much [or Meagher and
Ma tson as they both went dow n and dr opped
o u t o f th e top positions. As th e laps star ted
to run o u t. Myers managed to dose to within
a few bike len gths o f Smi th , but th at was as
close as he would come. Sm ith too k th e
checkered in first, with Myers seco nd. Pestana
fin ished thi rd .
Moto two started with Ma tson ge tti ng th e
hol esh ot, followed by Smit h , Myers and
Meagher. BeCor th e lap was over , Smith had

stra ig h t. As th e rid ers completed lap o ne,

tum. On lap thr~ Smith wen t down and
Myers had th e lead . Smi th lost cu ncemra tio n

fin ish line. The checkered n ag came o u t just
in time for Myers. and o ne lap too soo n (or
Smith. Myers took th e overall with a seco nd
and a (irst,·giving second to Smi th. Finishing
third in the mOlD and third o vera ll was
Pestana.
