The Hon da-Pizza Plus Top Gu n Showdown was the final round of the AMA Southeastern R eg io n a l MX Cha mpions hip MegaSeri es. This year 15 races were held in four sta tes T en nessee, North Caroli na , Virginia and Georgi a - fr om March to October. The top 15 riders in each class were automa tically assured of a spot on the ga te for Sunday's final race. Sa turday 's 482 entrants competed in one-rnoto qua lifier races to determine th e remain i ng 25 ga te p ositions . Racers who had already qualified were allo wed to race on Saturday for pra ctice, bu t not to imp rove their gate cho ices. On Sunday morning, the Aclass qualifyin g motos were ru n, then the final ro u nd of single motos comme nced for all the ma rbles. The most notable races on Saturday were the two 125cc C class divisions.
