The Jacksonville bike took over the lead for wh at wou ld be a one-ho u r sprint, but o n the sixth lap Zampach pointed to the rear as he flashed pas t and the team wai ted for him to p it. He was quickly in a nd th e rear was changed, only this time th e team put o n a Mich elin ins tead of Dunlop. " Dur ing the red flag we didn 't hav e a tire, " Zampach said. " It was hopp ing and cha ttering and I knew it wo u ld n ' t go th e distance . If we could have p ut it on for the red flag we would have. " Heino had hoped to change the tire d ur in g hi s ridin g stint, before th e red flag. . We made a little gamble on fuel a t the end and it worked out. We finished the race, literally, on fumes." " I've been r iding a lot th is weekend an d I'm prett y worn o u t," secondpl aced Zampach said. "I rode th is bike for over two hours a nd I wasn't just riding, I was racing it. T he fro nt brake was really gone, th e ti res were worn an d you just had to hang on twi ce as hard and work the bike and your body twice as hard." Cobb said he was rac ing wi th J oh n Ashmead, o f J ohn D. Ru e Racing near the end a nd was hap py for the di ce. J o h n D. Rue slowed to a seventh place finish when th ey ran out o f gas near the end. " I knew tha t me and J a m ie were Class champions Team T oomer won their sixth G T O class of the season. pretty m uc h fast enough to run with these guys," Cobb co ntin ued.
