amateu r even ts and .topped the field of top
amateur ride rs in Sunda y's races, held between
the Pro Nati o nal rnot os,

classes and co m pe ted o n th e same track that
the Nation al MX sta rs would tackl e th e next
da y. With th e lar ge number of ri ders an d ex ra
rno tos necessary , th e last set o f races wa s

by lak ing wins i n the 17-24 A class over Mark
Bor gen . In th e Iirst 250cc A moi o he had a
goo d start and held seco nd a t th e com p letio n
of th e first lap beh i nd Canad ian rid er Kim
Houde. For the next six lap s Kuiken led th e
way wh ile H oude ba u led with Chris Hughes.
Kui ken claimed a n easy wi n w ith Houde and
Bill y Graef leadi ng Hug hes across th e fin ish
line.

a poor start, as was H ug hes. Un fortu na tely
for Houde, they both got by o n the las t lap
to rob him of the overall wi n. Bo rgen took
fourth over Graef.
The 125cc A cla ss disp layed so me ta len ted
riders with J u n ior J ackson , rid ing wi th a ProAm license, getting some tra ck tim e befor e
th e nex t day's Na tion al event. Local rider
