SWEDEN, AUG. 4 talian Alessandro Puzar's defense of his 250cc World Championship ended with a crash in th e first moto of the Swedish G P, leaving American Trampas Parker poised to add the 250cc cro wn to hi s 1989 125cc World Championship. Parker started o u t fourth, but halfway through the first lap he passed Emmepi/Chambers Honda teammate Mi ch ele Fanton and H ansson to assume second place, w'hich the Shreveport, Louisiana native held to th e checkered flag. H ansson moved to third wh ere he stayed to th e fin ish , wh ile Vehkon en fought his wa y th ro ugh the pack to tak e fourth away from Fanton a t th e finis h.
