The'Airtech Formula II race was one of the better WERA Pro Seri es races of the year. It was a four-bike race nearl y the entire way. Kenny Roberts Jr. a nd Alan Sco tt of the Ra iney Racing team swapped the lead back and forth while rejuvenated Donnie Greene led at tim es o n his Dian eticssponsored Yamah a. All the while local ace Mike Su llivan was right in the thick of thi ngs . Mich ael Graves was also in the lead pack early before hi s bi ke exp ired. With three la p s to go, Ro bert s cras hed af ter dr afting by Scott and h itting so me bumps o n th e outs ide of tu rn two. T ha t left the race to Sco tt, Greene or Sullivan. Greene made hi s mo ve at the right pl ace and led with two turns to go . Sco tt, in a fa niastic mov e, drove underneath Gr een e o n th e las t turn to win by half a bik e length. In other racing, J oe Pittman was un stoppable in th e Dunlop Superstock races. Pittman handily beat Kurt Hall in the A Superstock race, then tu rn ed around and bea t Chuck Graves in the (L eft to right) Petersen, Oliver and Michael Martin celebrate on the rostrum. , , B Superstock event. It was a great day for the Oak H arb or , Washington rider. Bruce Lind, 43, sho ws no sign of slowing down. He won the C Superstock race after starting from th e rear of the field. In 'the Metzeler Fu ture Stars race, Or ega n rid er Peter Sch ran er had no problems, winning easily over Brian Honcoop. Sch raner rode a Cycle Sport of Sal em-spo nsored Yamaha FZR600 .
