SAl" MARII"O,JUNE 16 ike Hea ley scored his fir st 250cc G rand Prix overall win with a 1-2 performance o n the hardpacked Ba ldassero na circ u i t. KTM 's H ealey scored 37 points, which mo ved him from sixth to fou rth in the point standings as the Wo rld Championsh ip 250cc MX Series reached the ha lfway point. Whi le the southern Californian triumphed , fellow Ame rica n Trampas Parker faltered a nd dropped from second to thi rd i n th e poi n t stand ings after o n ly gai n ing points from a six th-place fin ish in the second rnoto. Parker 's Italia n Emmepi H o nda teammate Mich ele Fanton co mbi ned 3-1 mo to fi nishes fo r second o vera ll, whi le Holland's Dave Strijbos' 2-4 fini sh es earned hi m th ird overall and , allowed hi m to overtake Parker for second in th e point standings. Strij ba s trails defendi ng 250c c World Champion Alessandro Puzar, who fi n ished fourth ove rall , 146- 132. Co m p leting the top five was Am erica n Bader Ma nneh with 10-3 rnoto fi nishes. H eal ey again led m uch of rnoto two , but on the last lap Fanton passed h im and cro ssed the finish line firs t, three seco nds a head of H eal ey. Ma nneh , who is based in Ital y, finished th ird to score h is first poi nts of the year as Parker, P uzar, Strijbos and Pek ka Vehkonen had a last-minute scrap over fourth . Near th e end of th e 40-mi nute p lus two- lap moto , Strijbos broke clear of the bail ie 10 claim fourth at the fin ish, with Puzar gelling the better of Parker to finish fifth . Vehkonen was seventh behind Parker, and th e three riders crossed th e finish line within .IO seconds of each other.
