t was the biggest race of the
year-the U.S. Grand Prix, round three
. of the World Championship. And all the
best bike makers in the world brought
their stuff to Laguna Seca International
Speedway. With each manufacturer
sending out their top riders to give it
their best. But it happened again.
Wayne Rainey took what they sent out
and stuffed it right back up their exhaust.
Making 1991 his third consecutive
win at Laguna Seca in the 500cc class.
The competition was tough. And we
wish we could say that it was a fight to
the finish. Or that it came down to the
line. But it wasn't. And it didn't. Because right on turn three Rainey hit the
gas and left the competition standing still.
So what did you expect. Rainey was
riding a Yamaha.

Also, the same thing happened three
weeks ago in Australia. Rainey raced his
Yamaha. And Rainey grounded the
competition.
But in the end, it really doesn't matter
if we win or lose. Because we take what
was learned from the track and put it
into building a better bike. So fly down
to your local dealer and see what disciplined the competition. And when you
watch your next race, look for Yamaha.
