that Craig was coming, but I wasn 't too worried. " "It took me a while to get past Kehoe," said Craig. " By th e tim e I did, Mike was long go ne. " Craig stormed back with a ven geance in moto two, with Keh oe, H ealey, and Young in tow . H ealey dove to the in side of Kehoe at the top of the uphill, but lost cont ro l and went down hard. The runn in g order on lap two was Craig, Keh oe, Yo un g, a nd Bad er Manneh , Whi le Craig began LO p ull from the pack, Manneh was on a rampage, and swooped past Young in the back section of th e co urse . Manneh then closed o n Kehoe, and hounded th e Honda rider lap after la p. Finally, Manneh dove to the inside of the last turn and forced Keh oe o ut of hi s lin e. Kehoe stayed up to fin ish th ird, just ahea d of Young. " After I got th e ho leshot , I was expecting Healey to cha lle nge , bu t I guess he went down," said Craig. " I felt reall y good though , and I th ink I still would 've won. " " I do ve un dern eath Keh oe ," exp lained Healey, " and his footpeg went onto my front whee l. G lover fou nd a n opening o n lap five of the six-lap race , and took over the ru n ner-up pos itio n. Frank held onto th ird ahead o f a hard cha rgi ng Dan Berg. Glover hol esh ot the fin al moto, with Healey, Brown and Fran k sha do wing . G lover an d Heal ey set a very fast pace, and pulled o ut to a hu ge lead over their competitor s. Frank went do wn on lap t hree, bu t qu ickl y recovered a nd muscled hi s way back int o fo urth pla ce ahead of Berg. Meanw hile, Healey tried to find a wa y p as t Gl ov er. j b u t th e form er Nati onal Cha mpio n wouldn't budge. Fin ally , H eal ey sn uck under Glover a few turns from th e finis h, and stuffed the leader wide. Heal ey took the wi n ah ead of G lover, Fran k, and Brown. " What a road block !" jok ed Healey. " I co uld n' t find a way past h im! I kn ew I had to get pa st to take the overa ll, so I had LO force th e issu e." "H eal ey rid es well her e," sai d Glover, " and m y arms were so pumped up! I guess I was beaten by a worthy. competitor, but it would hav e been nice to win ." G lov er timed th e sta rti ng gate perfectly in the opening Vet Pro moto , with Gary Semics, Ro n Turner and Mu rr ay br eath in g down h is neck. Gl o ver would have none of that, and pull ed out LO an im med iate lead. Meanwh ile, Murray whipped it up in the far sectio n of the track an d took command of third. Semics was nex t to succu mb to Murra y, as the Suzuki pilot flew pas t o n the uphill. Glover won convincingly over Murray, Semics, and T urner. "That was fun ," said Gl over."Once I got the start, I felt I would win." "Ye llow magic! I'm back o n my Suzukis," said Murray, " and it 's made all the difference in the world. " Glover duplicated his fir st moto holeshot over Zoli Beren yi, Sernics and T urner a t the start of moto two, but Murray qu ickly began to slice through the pa ck. Murray di spl aced Turner on the downhill, and worked pa st Semics Rickey Fernandez (36R) beat Charles Gonzalez (141).and J eremy G iroir for the 125cc Begi n ner class divis ion one win . Robert Hansen (127) grabbed the holeshot over Mark McPerry (14) and Jeff Pittman (70) in the Up the Hill Junior class. in a bumpy turn. He then took over the runner-up spot wh en he jumped past Beren yi, but would run ou t of tim e before he could set h is sig h ts o n G lover. Gl over crossed the finish line well ahead of Murray, Beren yi, and Turner. "I feel good o n this 250," said Glover. " I wish I had sig ned up for that class too ." " I go t a bogus start," said Murray, " bu t I was still abl e to pass those guys pretty easy." Bren t Greer too k the early lead in the first 125cc Begin ner rnoto, whi le Jeremy Giroir, Charles Gonzalez and R ickey Fernandez argued o ver th e runner-up spot. While Greer p ull ed awa y from the pack , the three trailing riders exchange d the second po sitio n several tim es. Foll owing Gre er across the line were Gonzalez, G iro ir an d Fern andez. Moto two saw Phillip Mitch ell lead J osh Brewer, Gonzalez and Fernandez ont o the tra ck. Fern andez rode like a madman, and smo ked pa st Gonzalez on th e fir st lap . Once into third, Fernandez stalked the leaders and motored by both Brewer an d Mitchell on the last la p. Fernandez captured the o vera ll with his 4-1 tally , whil e Gonza lez and Mi tche ll ro unded ou t the top three overall. Kenny Maddux captured th e overall win in the 500cc J un io r clas s with a second moto win. Maddux led the maj o rity of the first moto but appeared to tire , allowing Todd Sweaney to motor pas t. The second moto saw Maddux grab another holeshot, with Sweaney clo se behind. Maddux turned in a stro ng perform an ce, never allowin g Swea ne y to ch a lle n ge . Randy izydorek rode to a pai r of cons istent thirds to secu re third overall. J on Mill er made short work of the Vet Master class , scoring two commandin g moto victories. Following Mill er across th e li ne in both mo LOS were Rod Ri chardson and T im Mar sh, wh o cha rged fro m mi d-pack starts i n both motos to earn second and third overa II, respecti vely. Paul lLO roosted the rest of the 80cc Juniors in both moLOS LO take the overa ll win. Ange lo Ingrande finis hed a close second in the first rno to, but couldn't find his way past ILO. Jason Shirey lurked in third as they crossed th e fini sh line. Second moto action saw Ito with another stro ng win , this time ahead of Sh irey and Steve Meier.
