second, T eam Suzuki's Tallon Vohland came back to ' win th e East ern/
Western Regi onal ma in. Teammate
Buddy Antunez led for three laps until
he rod e off th e course, surrendering th e
lead to Vohland which 'proved to be
the only lead change.
" I was fourth into th e first tu m ,"
said Indepe ndence, Missouri 's T allon
Voh land. "I hit Tyson (hi s brother)
hard in the firs t turn a nd had to
regroup before go ing after Buddy. I go t
a little lead and all of a sudd en
someone was pr essuring me. I looked
back and it was my stinkin ' bro ther,"
he said wit h a sm ile. " I got more
relaxed because he pressures me like
th is when we practi ce together. I knew
I could trust him and just tried to ride
as smooth as I could. "

points lead.

" I felt rea lly good off the line," said
McGrath. " I hurt my knee earlier and
after four laps I felt relaxed a nd ' was
abl e to really charge. "
For th e seco nd consecutive . week
Kawasaki 's Ryan H ughes finished
behind Brian Swi nk, only this time it
was for a disappointing fifth.
" I know I can win, but it is only
a matter of time," said Hughes. "I'll
get there soon."
