DAYTONA All Amateur classes ran first rnotos on .Saturda y and seco nd mo tos on Su nday; the Expert cla ss raced on Su nday o nly . In the first mo to of the 250cc Expert class , the firs t and second lap saw Den nis Hawthorne in from with Dave Shade, Jr. foll o win g in second. Shade took the lead in the th ird lap and led the race until the eighth lap , Iollowed by Hawthorne, Jason Edwards and Roy Schellenberger. Edwards took the lead in the eighth lap and cla imed the first moto win, Iollowed by Hawthorne, Shellenberger and Shade. In the seco nd moto, Billy Whitley led th e race for th e fir st seven laps. Shade held seco nd [or two laps, th en Schellenberge r too k o ver second place, but grabbed th e lead in th e eigh th lap, keeping it th rough the chec kered flag. Wh itl ey was second, F ollowed by Hawth orne and Shade. Act ion in th e l25cc Expert class saw Whitl ey dominating th e first mot o. Clay Hoenshell held second place [or six laps; J aso n Krempin hun g on to third [or [o ur laps, but had it ta ken a way in th e fifth lap b y Schelle nberger.
