W Eigh t-time Nat ion al Enduro Chainpion Dick Burleson was on ly six poin ts off the leading pace at the lu nch break; and after dropping five points in the last section, for a grand to tal of 21 points, the Suzuki pilot scored sixth overa ll and first pl ace in th e Sen ior class. Jon Mill er comb ined hi s motocross skills and smooth riding style to cla im sevent h overa ll and th ird p lace in the 250cc class. Miller ta llied 23 points, nippin g G rant Palen ske by one po int. Palen ske was just one point behi nd Roeseler at the first gas , but dropped a somewhat h igh score of 13 in the ne xt sectio n, which ended hi s chances for an overa ll win. On e poi nt off Palenske's pace was Tom Webb, who fini shed second in the Open class. Ro unding out the top 10 was Pete Murray , who fin ished thi rd in the I25cc class. Former National Enduro Champion Kevin H ines 'was in th e hunt for the ov era ll win before experi en cing mechanical problems with his rear bra ke pedal and eventually had to borrow a pedal from fello w KT M rider Tom T hrai lkill.
